Stimulus money to pay for diversity training in Texas school district

One school district in Texas will use $500,000 of its federal stimulus money to fund diversity training for all of its employees. "We're training everyone," said Garland Assistant Superintendent Phyllis Parker, "from cafeteria workers to bus drivers." Money for the diversity training will come out of $11 million earmarked for special education, part of a $21 million stimulus package the district is to receive over two years.
