Groups identify key elements to curb health care infections

A coalition that includes the CDC and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America is advocating for the adoption of a framework of evidence-based practices and systemwide prevention strategies to curb health care-associated infections. The recent decline in central line-associated bloodstream infections indicates that the framework could help reduce HAIs, the coalition said in a report.
