Martina Hund-Mejean, chief financial officer at MasterCard, is a true believer that companies must help their employees improve. When she was hired in late 2007, she launched a job-rotation program for her 700-person department. Implementing such an effort can be difficult, but Hund-Mejean charged forward. "Developing talent is paramount," she said. "You are developing people who can take a higher position, rather than having to go out on the market and hire someone."
