Wind power grows in the Garden State

New Jersey is emerging as one of America's wind-energy champions, with plans in the pipeline for offshore wind projects that could generate a collective 1,100 megawatts. The Garden State doesn't have much in the way of onshore wind potential, experts say, but it has an estimated 100 gigawatts of tappable wind energy within 50 miles of its shoreline.
