Brits pour $56 million into 5G research lab

The University of Surrey will create the 5G Innovation Centre after receiving $56 million in grants from U.K. carriers, a group of telecom vendors and the government-backed UK Research Partnership Investment Fund. "The boundaries between mobile communication and the Internet are blurring, so the fifth generation is Internet on the move," said Rahim Tafozolli, a university professor and director of its Centre for Communications Systems Research.
