Broadband providers spent $420M in stimulus funds, NTIA reports

Broadband providers spent more than $420 million in federal stimulus funds during the government's fiscal third quarter, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration reported. Those grant recipients added $125 million of their own money to the capital expenditures, it noted. The quarter saw the deployment of nearly 15,000 miles of new or upgraded broadband networks.
