A4A: ICAO agreement a win for airlines, customers and environment

Airlines for America joined aviation industry officials in applauding the International Civil Aviation Organization for its work to produce a road map toward a meaningful global agreement on aviation and climate change. "We are pleased with the resolution adopted by the Assembly and believe it represents a significant step forward in ensuring that commercial aviation remains a green engine of economic growth around the world," said A4A President Nicholas Calio. A4A's Vice President of Environmental Affairs Nancy Young also noted support for the historic agreement. "Today's resolution reaffirms the global commitment by airlines and governments to continue moving forward with meaningful, workable solutions to address climate change and achieve carbon-neutral growth from 2020 -– a true win for airlines, their customers and our environment," she said.
