Architects focus on gathering diverse input for global challenges

Design thinking that gathers input from diverse groups around the world is the approach increasingly taken by architects as they tackle global problems, writes Brooks Rainwater, director of public policy at the American Institute of Architects. "We have to challenge every assumption of architecture, including the business model, if we are to rethink value. We need to expand the horizons of what we expect from our built environment," said Michael Murphy, CEO of MASSDesign.
