Calif. district nets millions of dollars for middle-school technology

Salesforce.com founder Marc Benioff has donated $2.7 million to the San Francisco district's 12 middle schools to be spent on iPads, wireless Internet, teacher training and other innovations. Officials said the goal is for other businesses to follow Salesforce.com's lead in donating funds to education in the district.
