Engineered tissue plus compression might prevent wound recurrence

Researchers treated 14 chronic venous or mixed ulcers using an autologous tissue plus compression, and all ulcers healed within an average of seven weeks. Two ulcers recurred, one required a second course of treatment before healing and another healed with additional local wound care. The study was published in Advances in Skin & Wound Care.
