Expert warns executives about risks of 3D printing

While the rise of 3D printing may yield tremendous benefits for the supply chain, the technology also warrants scrutiny by company executives to prepare for the risks that come with it, Gartner analyst Daryl Plummer said. According to Gartner, 3D printing could increase the risks of piracy and counterfeiting. There also may be legal risks related to the bioprinting of human tissues and organs.
