Microsoft shines spotlight on enterprise services, tools

Microsoft is preparing to debut a slew of updated software products, including Windows Server, SQL server and a Visual Studio tool for developers, and it is offering cost reductions starting Nov. 1 for its Azure product as it moves deeper into providing cloud offerings. Microsoft's Steve Ballmer said the company views its consumer services, such as Skype and Bing, "as an on-ramp to our enterprise services."
