Most companies think PCAOB audit report proposal won’t improve audit reports

Only 27% of board members at public companies think that the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board's proposed changes to the audit report will improve it, according to a BDO USA study. The majority, 78%, favored disclosing the auditor's tenure length, while 52% were opposed to a proposal that would require auditors to discuss critical audit matters, and 67% did not want to see auditors consider information beyond the financial statements.
