Obama is expected to nominate Yellen to lead Fed

President Barack Obama will name Janet Yellen to head the Federal Reserve, White House officials say, ending months of speculation about who will hold one of the most powerful policymaking positions in the world. Yellen, second in command at the Fed, was previously president of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. One of the first issues she would confront as head of the central bank is how quickly to scale back expansionist monetary policy implemented by Chairman Ben Bernanke.
