Opinion: Despite new pipeline, Calif. golf courses aren't using non-potable water

In 2009, the Coachella Valley Water District finished building the $75 million Mid-Valley Pipeline to carry non-potable water to the valley's golf courses, but so far, only one golf course has hooked up to the pipeline. According to the district, if 50 courses connected to the pipeline, it would reduce potable water usage by 50,000 acre-feet each year.
