Physicists win Nobel prize for predicting Higgs boson

Physicists Peter Higgs and Francois Englert have won the Nobel Prize for physics for predicting the existence of the Higgs boson. Tests conducted by CERN last year detected the particle's existence. "I hope this recognition of fundamental science will help raise awareness of the value of blue-sky research," Higgs said.
