Rising rates are not a negative for real estate funds

Even though rising interest rates are likely in the future, real estate funds should not be dismissed by investors, experts interviewed in this article say. If rates are rising because the economy is strong, that will benefit real estate fundamentals and consequently, the funds’ performance. "As the economy gets better and we add more jobs, you can't produce more supply overnight…[so] we'll start to see landlords have pricing power," says Marc Halle, manager of the Prudential Global Real Estate Fund.
