Starbucks has invested heavily in ventures including baked-goods brand La Boulange, juice maker Evolution Fresh and tea company Teavana in a push to grow beyond its coffee roots. Starbucks stores have been retrofitted with freezers to accommodate the new baked goods. Branded juice and tea shops are on track to open, and the company spent $70 million to open a Los Angeles plant to make cold-pressed juices.
