Texas students use project-based learning to profile "model citizens"

Three second-grade classrooms at a Texas elementary school this year are piloting project-based learning programs, in which teachers and students focus on inquiry, problem-solving and collaboration, among other 21st-century skills. On a recent day, students used laptops to work on projects to profile famous model citizens, such as Thurgood Marshall, and defining what it means to be a "model citizen."
