Students are likely to favor using voice-to-text dictation technology for writing assignments as devices become less expensive and more widely available, Robert Rosenberger writes in this blog post. An assistant professor of philosophy at Georgia Tech, Rosenberger writes that the debate on the use of this technology is likely to mirror that of past debates about calculators and how often and for what purpose students can use the devices for school.
