Silicone implants may get FDA approval

The FDA is considering allowing silicone-gel breast implants back on the U.S. market. They were banned 11 years ago amid fears they were dangerous, but proponents say the implants have been exonerated as disease-causers. Feminist groups and other critics disagree, saying questions about long-term side effects from silicone gel leaks remain unsettled.
