Calif.-based firm shares biotech rice with Chinese farmers

Arcadia Biosciences is trying to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by selling its biotech rice seeds to farmers in China. The seeds, which are still under development, will reduce the need for nitrogen fertilizer, a major source of greenhouse gases. The strategy also may help Arcadia contribute to the $30 billion market for carbon credits.
