AT&T Chief Technology Officer Jon Donovan spoke Thursday of the company's wireless network, saying the huge surge in data traffic -- 5,000% in three years -- has played the largest role in creating traffic jams. Speaking at the International CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment®, Donovan played down the iPhone's role in driving bandwidth usage, saying that was only partly true. "There's new devices, such as e-readers, netbooks, and they are beginning to gain real traction," he said.
