House approves Travel Promotion Act in 358-66 vote

The House overwhelmingly approved the Travel Promotion Act, which would establish a public-private partnership charged with promoting the U.S. to foreign travelers and improve the understanding of security policies. The Senate had previously passed an identical bill. "The need for travel promotion has never been greater," said Roger Dow, head of the U.S. Travel Association. "As the recent vote of the International Olympic Committee demonstrated, the United States must invest in better explaining its security policies and attracting foreign travelers."
