India approves offensive against Maoist militants in 7 states

India's cabinet approved a coordinated offensive against Maoist insurgents in the seven states most impacted by their violent tactics, which experts fear are growing increasingly provocative. More than 600 people have died this year in Maoist attacks, including 16 villagers and a policeman who was beheaded.
