Military program creates construction jobs in San Antonio

The Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission, or BRAC, has created up to 2,500 construction jobs in San Antonio, Texas, observers say. The San Antonio BRAC program includes work on 78 facilities, including a bridge, aircraft taxiway and urban assault course. "We started awarding projects in very late 2007, and so we have some projects that are complete, some projects just being awarded, and we have the vast majority of our work right now that is under construction," said Randy Holman, program manager for the Army Corps of Engineers.
