Omega-3 might help preserve vision

A National Eye Institute study found that increased consumption of omega-3 fatty acids might lead to a 30% reduction in the risk of age-related blindness. "If these results are generalizable, they may guide the development of low-cost and easily implemented preventive interventions for progression to advanced age-related macular degeneration," the researchers said.
