Oregon jury rules John Deere not liable for accident

An Oregon jury ruled John Deere and a local distributor are not liable for a mowing accident. Kurt Norton accidentally backed over his daughter while using a riding mower on his lawn, which led to the amputation of her leg. Deere mower blades do not automatically stop when riding mowers are placed in reverse.
