Safeway wellness campaign spurs amendment to health reform bill

Safeway's new health and wellness campaign appears to have been the basis for an amendment to the health care reform bill that seeks to reduce overall medical costs by offering incentives to people who lead a healthy lifestyle, according to a newspaper report. The amendment, introduced by Sens. John Ensign, R-Nev., and Tom Carper, D-Del., was approved with overwhelming bipartisan support.
