Senate debate offers Mont. students close-up look at politics in action:

Montana's U.S. Senate candidates squared off in a recent debate with eight students from Grass Range, Mont., High School in attendance, getting a lesson in government that can't be found in a textbook or classroom lecture. Social studies teacher George Maruska traveled with his students for two hours to Montana State University in Billings to see the event live because he said he wanted them to hear it for themselves without the influence of television commentators' opinions or campaign ads.
