An exhibition devoted to 3D printing at London’s Science Museum reveals both possibilities and limitations of the technology, even in industrial applications, writes Tony Smith in this article that has photos of some of the exhibits. Observed 3D printing consultant Phil Reeves: "A printer needs to heat up and takes hours to print one thing. The cost of a million people printing in a million different places will be huge. You’re better off producing things in factories, where it takes 15 seconds."
