Babcock & Wilcox moves ahead with second phase at FutureGen project

Babcock & Wilcox has signed an agreement to perform the second phase of its project with the U.S. Department of Energy's FutureGen 2.0 carbon capture and storage project at a coal plant in Meredosia, Ill. In this $49 million phase, B&W will design and supply a boiler that will use a combustion process combining oxygen and recycled flue gas.
