For the first time, Microsoft has indicated that iPad users will one day have access to a native Office application. CEO Steve Ballmer declined to issue a time frame but said it would happen when Microsoft builds a touch-screen interface for its popular software suite. "IPad will be picked up when we do what I would call not just a touch-enabled but a touch-first user interface [for Office]. That is in progress ... for both Windows 8 and other platforms," Ballmer told a gathering of Gartner analysts.
