EIA: U.S. ethanol output to average 880,000 barrels per day in 2014

U.S. ethanol production is expected to rise from an average of 850,000 barrels per day last month to 880,000 barrels per day in 2014, as the effects of last year's drought recede, according to the Energy Information Administration's October short-term energy outlook. Output had fallen from an average of 900,000 barrels per day in the first six months of 2012 to 820,000 barrels per day between July 2012 and March 2013, the agency said.
