Experts call for public policy debates on shale natural gas

Shale natural gas drilling can positively affect education, immigration, trade policy and other aspects of life in the U.S., experts said during a conference in Pennsylvania. The country, however, needs to hold public policy debates so it can experience the full benefits associated with shale gas. "With the return of affordable natural gas and natural gas liquids in the United States, the whole world picture has changed. This is probably the single greatest opportunity we have to restore the middle class in America," said Peter Molinaro, vice president and senior adviser for government affairs for Dow Chemical.
