How pediatric dental, vision are handled under ACA

Vision and dental care are considered essential health benefits for children under the Affordable Care Act but are not required for adults. Vision care will be at least partially covered by medical plans, but dental care may be offered as a stand-alone plan with separately calculated maximum out-of-pocket costs. According to a 2013 NADP report, 99% of dental benefits are sold separately from medical insurance.
