J.C. Penney switches agencies again, reports "positive signs"

J.C. Penney is dropping Young & Rubicam as its lead creative agency after just six months, hiring three agencies as replacements. Doner will lead creative while Omnicom's EVB and Havas' Victors & Spoils will share digital and social duties, according to a J.C. Penney representative. On Tuesday, the company reported that same-store sales declined 4% in September, stanching the double-digit declines seen in previous months. CEO Myron Ullman said that the brand is "now seeing positive signs in many important areas of the business."
