Microsoft says devs will like Windows 8.1 store, pledges 5-day app approvals

Microsoft is promising developers that the new Windows Store expected to go up with the release of Windows 8.1 on Oct. 18 will include detail pages with a Bing-based search engine that aid discoverability and merchandizing opportunities. In addition, the company also told developers that once Windows 8.1 is out, application submissions will be approved within five days. The move is seen as a make-good to the development community after Microsoft announced it would not accept app submissions before the general release, Alex Wilhelm writes.
