Pit bull puppy draws attention to boy in need of care

Soon after a Minnesota woman brought a pit bull puppy home from a local animal shelter, the dog's barking and whining alerted her to breathing troubles being experienced by her sleeping 4-year-old son. Emergency department doctors found the boy had extremely low blood sugar. Christi Smith, the boy's mother, was planning on fostering the puppy, TaterTot, but she's decided to adopt him instead.
