Report: American solar companies could still shine

The U.S. can't compete with China's low labor costs, but it could still emerge as the world's top solar producer, according to a report from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. American firms have other advantages, such as lower risk to investors and a greater capacity for innovation. "The race for cost-competitive clean energy from the sun is far from over and incredible growth opportunities remain," says NREL analyst Alan Goodrich.
