Some USDA staff back to work on livestock vaccine testing

The AVMA praised Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack for bringing some government workers involved in livestock vaccine testing and dissemination with the Center for Veterinary Biologics back to work. The move helps protect "herd health, food safety and public health," said AVMA Executive Vice President and CEO Dr. Ron DeHaven, who previously called for the government to address the need. Workers involved in the approval of new vaccines are still furloughed.
