Urban Outfitters invests more in mobile ahead of holidays

Urban Outfitters has revamped and upgraded its mobile application in time for holiday shopping, adding a rewards program, a dedicated radio station and barcode scanning. "We believe, because of the age of our customer, if we aren't a serious industry-leading player in all of our mobile experiences -- and this includes the way we create experiences for the customer in the store related to mobile technology -- that by the time we get into next year, we'll be behind the eight ball," said Jim Davis, Urban Outfitters' director of Web and customer analytics.
