Veterinarians hurt by medical-device tax in Affordable Care Act

Veterinarians have been caught up in the Affordable Care Act's 2.3% tax on medical devices. Many of the medical devices that vets buy -- such as ultrasound machines and X-ray equipment -- are not labeled for animals, which means the vets have to pay the extra tax. Unlike doctors for humans, vets are not benefiting from the extra patient flow the Affordable Care Act is creating.
