ACOG issues recommendation on thyroid testing

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists committee does not recommend routine thyroid screening for all pregnant women as it finds no proven health benefit of the test to mothers and infants. The recommendation came amid a debate on whether all pregnant women should undergo subclinical hypothyroid disease screening.
