Sony to launch a lower-priced PS3 in U.S., sources say

Sony Computer Entertainment will unveil a more affordable version of its PlayStation 3 in U.S. stores next month, according to media reports citing unnamed sources. The new 40GB PS3 will sell for $399 and will have fewer features than higher-priced models, according to industry sources. The company, which could not be reached for comment, recently released a lower-priced version in Europe.
