Dallas might not meet Feds' deadline to fix Trinity River levees

Dallas officials have voiced concerns that the city might be unable to fix the Trinity River levees before the Federal Emergency Management Agency issues its revised flood maps for the region in December 2011. If results from soil sample testing show that the structures require more expensive repairs than previously believed, "then the city would not likely meet FEMA's latest remapping schedule," officials noted.
