Childhood UTIs rarely lead to chronic kidney disease

Data from 1,576 reviewed cases and 366 patients with chronic kidney disease revealed that the maximum etiological fraction of recurrent childhood urinary tract infections as a main cause of CKD was only 0.3%. Researchers reported in Pediatrics that 308 of the 366 patients with CKD had a specific noninfectious cause of CKD.
