Getting the most out of electronic health records requires overcoming cultural differences in clinical settings. Casey Helfrich of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center suggests finding a physician champion to spur other clinicians to adopt new technology. Certification Commission for Health chairwoman Dr. Karen Bell recommends offering incentives, perhaps by allowing EHR training to qualify for required continuing education credits.
