Farmers help promote National Farm to School Month

Farmers and chefs are visiting schools to promote the use of local foods in school nutrition programs as part of the first National Farm to School Month. There are some 2,300 farm-to-school programs in the U.S., and Kathie Starkweather of the Center for Rural Affairs says they "encourage healthy eating and boost local agriculture sales."
