Group therapy curbs depression in women with diabetes


Depressed women with type 2 diabetes who participated in a nurse-delivered group therapy program showed significant improvements in depression, trait anxiety and anger expression compared with those who received usual care, according to a study in the Annals of Behavioral Medicine. However, researchers did not observe significant differences in fasting glucose and HbA1C improvements between the two groups.
